On the occasion of their European stadium tour, Rammstein will return to Belgrade. Although this will be their third performance in front of the home crowd, organizers promise that it will be a spectacle like none before. An eagerly awaited show by the German cult band marked for a quirk – another concert on May 25th at Ušće Park awaits visitors despite the record ticket sales on May 24th.
The band is known for its bizarre stylization and performances of epic proportions which require extensive technical preparation. The fact that the stage equipment arrived a month before the concert speaks volumes about its scale. For the Belgrade gigs, 77 trucks of equipment were delivered that will transform into a mini city after full installation. Just setting up the stage takes six days, three to assemble steel structures and another three for sound and lighting set up.
The concert area covers approximately 240,000 square meters. About 1,500 workers are involved in the technical realization itself. As a result, there was round-the-clock work by 18 light and sound engineers who alongside their technical crew planned out every single detail about the stage. Since the band is accustomed to spectacular stage and pyrotechnic effects, more than 1,200 liters of special gasoline were prepared for it, along with close to 600 different pyrotechnic effects.
It is unbelievable that flamethrowers can throw fire as high as 20 meters in height. In order for musicians as well as audience members to have perfect atmosphere during the show, 36 dim machines and 35 huge fans were used. Since the use of stage technology requires considerable amounts of electricity this also means that bands’ logistics plan includes portable diesel generators which are used during any concert within their tour. By doing so any possible power supply issues are prevented from affecting performance quality or local power grid stability at any venue.
Powerful fireworks are a trademark of the band and an integral part of each performance while sound quality does not fall short at all. A 60-meter long and 36-meter high sound system will deliver 2 million watts to the audience from a stage. In fact sound comes through 170 amplifiers type LA12X where each of them has an output power of 12,000 watts. A look at similar technical specifications tells us that Belgrades and their guests expect nothing short of ‘tsunami’.
Belgrade has joined a list of 16 European cities that will host this year’s tour so May concerts will attract numerous visitors from the surrounding region. Millions of people who have attended band’s performances in recent years know that Rammstein concerts are unique in terms of their scope, quality and scale. This year, German musicians celebrate the 30th anniversary of their career which will allow old and new fans to enjoy an outstanding stage performance with the band’s greatest hits.
The venue for these concerts is Park Ušće or dynamic part of New Belgrade where various accommodation options abound along with chances to see much Serbian capital city. There is a big interest from fans in neighboring countries so many hotels are fully booked. Renting apartments per day is still a realistic option for visitors looking for cheap accommodation near the concert venue. There’s still time to make reservations and have an absolutely outstanding experience in music’s lovers memory.
